hi..

i have problem in getting the right shape of radiation pattern usign AWR microwave office.i'm a new beginner on this software. i'd trying to simulate my design and get the result almost right accept the radiation pattern. the radiation pattern is really strange. anyone can help me with this.

second question, how to analyze the cross-polrization in AWR?

Ste the Air layer below DGS as 10 mm & also above the patch 10 mm, &
change the Bottom Boundry to "Approx Open" decrease X & Y Grid size to 0.5X0.5 mm...

If not expected results reduce further to 0.25X0.25 mm which may take longer simulation time but you get better results...

why i can't open the file that u attached. when i want to open the MWO file modified.rar, the AWR window ask me to define the path. i can't open that file at the end.

because you use very old version of MWO, & I use the latest version 9
I have attached the MWO v7 compatible file for you you can see the effect of Box & cell size on the output results hence use box size of 100X100 mm & celll size of 0.5X0.5 mm you will get better results & wich matches with the paper published results....

Repeat the same procedure for other MWO files...

I'm a new beginner as well. Actually, I'm a computer engineer, not electrical engineer. So, I'm really quite new about this technology.

Can I ask you a question?
I wanna try to simulate a bi-periodic transmission line with Cross sectional solvers, EM sight, and Axiem. And I expect to see that it will show me the same results for all solvers, but it didn't.

The question is "Am I correct that I understand all solvers in MWO will give me the same results, and what is different between these solvers.

Yes I am back & seen ur file...
Looks very interesting!

I have modified your Distributed / Microstrip Schematic & added MSTEP element which is discontinuity model required when you connect two
different width microstrip traces in circuit schematic simulation (accurately simulates the effects) you can use the advanced MSTEPSX element in MWO but needs your EM based model database filled for your substrate to simulate...

Also I setup the Axiem simulations for the same structure & simulated ...

1)How to create ground plane between two subtrates and make a slot in this".

This's my MWO file

I creat la layer with high er as ground plan.Then,I make a conductor names slot with electric conductivity is 0.3e-14 S/m (e_conductivity of air) and place it as via of ground plane.But program notices that i get some problems.

Okay now I have modified your em structure & also the corresponding setup screen shots are attached for reference & exercise for such antenna simulations using AWR MWO...

Thanks for your help.It's very useful for me but I still have a question for you.
In your project, you used a copper metal as a ground plane.But i think it can make high spurious radition that affect to results.Therefore,can you explain to me why you use ground with copper in this occasion. (actually,i simulated this project with similar your way but i creat a material with electric conductivity of ground.However,it get problems.^^).
