checking for oscillation in LNA design in AWR MWO
I've designd some X-band LNA and I'm looking for some methods to chech if
there is any oscillation at the output of LNA?
would you please help me do that?
Thanks in advance
If your LNA has single stage, K and Mu factor stability chekings will be sufficient.
But if it has more stage, NDF ( Normalized Determinant Function ) should be investigated. For more information..
See "NDF_Workshop" in MWO Examples...
Don't forget to check for oscillations in a wide frequency range, perhaps starting from few tens of MHz.
Up to 40GHz.

BigBoss,
What is the version of your AWR? My AWR is 2008 version, and I don't find "NDF_Workshop" in MWO Examples.
Hello Tony,
You must have AWR MWO 2009 v9.0 or higher to see this example....
Also go through the Amplifiers topic from "Microwave and RF Design A Systems Approach" book by Michael Steer,
which shows different ways of checking stability such as "u"...
dear roomates
thanks for your replies.I cheched to fined the mentioned feature that bigbss said but I could otr find it in MVO 2008 and 2009.would you please help me more?
I have attached..But I don't know it is extractable with previous versions..
