How can I simulate CPW patch antenna by Feko?

录入:edatop.com     点击:
Hello everyone! I have been in trouble with patch antenna feeding by CPW cause I don't know how to draw and set the model in feko Suite 5.2. My antenna is patch one with stripline applying for UWB. I'm expecting some examples or tuts that help me to figure out the problem.I did search a lot in the forum but it's hopeless so if anyone got any clue I appreciate that.

Here is my antenna:

I looked at this post, however it dosen't show how to draw the feed exactly in feko. I knew that there are 2 way to model cpw:wave port and slump port but I still can not draw and run it without mistakes from the software. Do u have a step by step guide for drawing this plz show me.

Hi mr shern,

in 5.2 you can replace the substrate with green functions (e.g. multi-layer substrate) and keep the finite PEC gnd plane. Waveguide port may only work at higher feko versions.(I'm not sure) From your diagram, which looks like a microstrip feed. You can create an additonal PEC plate that connects to the ground and the microstrip line. Place an edge port at the interface between the microstrip-line and new plate that you have just created. I know it is not ideal but it should not have significant deviation from measurements. If you still want to keep your finite substrate, you will have to extent the microstripline slightly longer than the substrate and use the same method stated above to feed the microstrip line. (This is shown in the first first diagram in the above mentioned thread) E.g. like a horizontal V connecting the microstripline and ground.

Hope this helps.

Thank u , I imaged the method. However, this feed isn't accurate at a high frequency. I've simulated an antenna for UWB.

i did a quick sweep with

"OPTIMIZATION OF IMPEDANCE BANDWIDTH FOR THE PRINTED
RECTANGULAR MONOPOLE ANTENNA" - John Wiley - Microwave & Opti. Tech. letters by M. John and M. J. Ammann

I just "flew pass" the model so the results are of low accuracy. They are not exactly similar to the paper. *Disclaimer* - I do not guarantee the accuracy of the results and comparisons. :p

return loss results seems reasonable when comparing with measurements. Perhaps connectors are going to play a part so prediction may only accurate up to a certain degree?
