Difference between Momentum Microwave and FEM Simulation

录入:edatop.com    点击:

I have created layout and simulated in ADS momentum. My circuit/layout application frequency is 0-30GHz, so which one among Momentum Microwave and FEM Simulation will produce accurate results for the above frequency range ? Because results are not same when we compare both (for example S21 is Almost double in FEM as compared to uW).

- While performing Microwave simulation for better accuracy I have kept cells/wavelength to 150 also I have selected "Edge Mesh"

-While performing EFM simulation I have kept delta error to 0.008 and Max.Number of Adaptive passes to 40.

Thanks in Advance

Hello,

I don't think anyone give a useful answer without seeing model details. The biggest error source in EM modelling is the user, accuracy depends on the user's experience with the EM tool.

Both results should agree, unless there is a "real" difference like finite substrate size that matters.

Ports are a topic that might be relevant here, port concepts between the tools are quite different.

Best regards

Volker
