mapping "purpose" for a layer

hi,

I am importing a GDS file into ADS. in the layout view there are multiple polygons for a layer with different purpose. is there a way to find out therepresentation of"purpose" property?

For example, there is a layer 44 with purpose p99 and p4. how can i find out what p99 and p4 represent?

Hello,

what technology do you use? The layers and purposes are usually documented in a process specification or layout rules document. If you just have the GDSII with no documents, you need to guess.
