Simulation Error： Invalid Touchstone File

My ADS 2016 v1circuit simulation terminates with an error message that claims the first uncommented character in my Touchstone .s2p file (Line 1, Column 1)is invalid. The first character is a # whichshould becorrect for a type 1 Touchstone .s2p file. I've tried deleting the character and reinserting it without luck. I've attached the error message and the .s2p file in question. Why is this happening?

The error message is not about the # character on line 11 but is instead about the ! character for the very first line whichis attempting tomark that line as acomment but not being interpreted correctly. The reason for this result is that the s2p file itself, even though it is an ASCII file, it has been saved with UTF-8 encoding and not the normal ANSI format. Simply open the s2p file in an ASCI text editor, like Notepad on Windows, and resave it with ANSI encoding and then it should be read correctly and simulate without this error. (Note: it may still complain about the degree symbol in line 10 but this is within a comment so should not result in incorrect simulation performance)

A million thanks! changing the ASCII file encoding to ANSI fixed the troublesome files and stopped the error messages. I'm not sure where you're located but I owe you a beer...or a fruity cocktail with one of those little umbrellas, depending on your preference ;-)
