Simulation: Data File Tool vs. Symbol

录入:edatop.com    点击:
I used Momentum to analyze an output match circuit to a GaN transistor.

Once the simulation completed, I dropped the generated symbol for the circuit into my schematic. I also used the Data File Tool to generate S-Parameters.

Interchanging between the symbol and the Data Item (linked to the Data File Tool generated S-Parameters) gives me different results.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,

Steve

Steve, you should get the same results. Differences can be from different interpolation methods as defined in the SnP block where you access the dataset. Check if you have linked to the _a dataset with the adaptive frequency sweep data, or maybe just the "raw" data with a few frequency points.

For the Symbol and the underlying emModel data, one possible (trivial) mistake would be that you didn't update the emModel when re-running the EM simulation after some layout change. There is a setting to auto-update the emModel when the EM simulation is started manually.
