How to do impedance matching with an unknown load impedance?

录入:edatop.com    点击:

Hi all,

I'm new to ADS. I'd like to simulate a very basic 1-stage Dickson voltage multiplier, using HSMS285C model available at HF diode kits of ADS. The following screenshots are my schematic and its result. HB simulation is used with the order of 1 and the center frequency is 915 MHz.

Now I'd like to design a matching network for maximum power transfer. However I don't know the impedance of the multiplier. So, how can I perform an impedance matching with an unknown load impedance?

Any suggestion would be great. Thank you very much.

First of all, since a multiplier is a nonlinear device you should be using an order higher than 1....at least 3 or 5.

You can characterize impedances and reflection coefficients in HB by using directional couplers and ratios of sampled voltages. There might be an example on the Knowledge Center.
