Current measurement and using in VAR equation

录入:edatop.com    点击:
Hi, I am newbie at ADS. I have a really crucial problem. I have a circuit for battery cell balancing circuit. To calculate state of charge, I need measure current. It can be done with current probe but I need to use that measured current in VAR equation.
If you help me, I am glad.
Thank you.

Hi Derun,

Please see if the attached example is helpful.

Thank you for reply. However, this is not what I meant. If we think your example, you measure VR that is okey but for instance I want to make a new voltage source like Va=5*VR**2+VR+6.
That is why I need VAR. If there is another way to do it, please tell me.
Thank you.

Note that there is a difference between VAR equations and MeasEqns. VAR equations set parameters prior to running a simulation. MeasEqns calculate results from simulations and can be used on schematics or in the data display. I recommend that you refer to the documentation on these two.

You may need to use the Symbolically-Defined Device. There is documentation about this in the product.

SDD may work for me. Can I make a linear resistor by using SDD?
Thank you.

Yes. SDDs can be used to model linear resistors, but you could use a Z1P_Eqn, instead.

I am sorry to ask so many question to you but I need one more answer. I can use voltage of SDD in VAR as shown in the pic. How can I use voltage of Z_eqn in VAR?
Thank you.

I recommend that you contact Keysight EEsof Technical Support. If you don't want to do this, you can learn a lot from the documentation and the ADS examples that have SDDs.

Thanks for your big help.
