General Description

This example shows the S-parameter calculation for a coaxial discontinuity. It consists of inner and outer conducting cylinders of different radii and parts of different dielectric material in the center of the structure.

Structure Generation

The structure is constructed by only using cylinders of different radii and material properties. All parts of the structure are parameterized allowing to change the structure's dimensions easily.

Solver Setup

For the excitation two waveguide ports are used at the ends of the structure. Due to the symmetry of the structure, two magnetic symmtery planes are used in order to reduce the calculation domain and thus the calculation time.

Post Processing

The scattering parameters and the time signals can be accessed through the 1D Result folder in the navigation tree. The results there can also be selected during the simulation.
