IC5 is CDB base, IC6 is OA base. Unless you want to convert your IC5 (CDB) database to OA; otherwise, don't try it. IC6 has convertion tool to convert IC5 database. You can not convert IC6 database format (OA) to IC5.
IC6 has better user interface but Cadence, again, change buttom and function setting. lot of functions are still the same but there are difference. If you are expert user of IC5, you can try IC6. Prepare to spend at lease two weeks to familiar the program.
