S21 data display with .s1p files and data items

Hi,

I want to understand something. I am doing S-parameter simulation using data items with s1p file. the file contains only reflection parameter S11 from port 1. But at the end of simulation I can see ADS is plotting S21 as well. What does that mean? How it is deriving S21 data if there is no S21 data present in the file.

Without seeing your setup, I'll have to speculate. Some of the S-parameter simulation templates have data displays that always assume your simulation has generated 2-port S-parameters. If your schematic has two Term components then it will generate a dataset with 2-port S-parameters. An s1p component can be used to read in 1-port data that can then be used in many different simulations, including a 2- or multi-port S-parameter simulation.
