CST2013: How to Use the Help System

Items from the Ribbon tabs are represented in the form Ribbon tab: GroupButtonItem. If a child dialog is accessible via a button in another dialog, this is indicated by ButtonItemButton.

The help system can be accessed by either selecting Help Contents or pressing the F1 key at any time to get context-sensitive help. All dialog boxes also contain a Help button that will open a manual page for the corresponding dialog box.

On the left of the help system dialog three lists are available that can be selected by clicking on the corresponding tab above. The following text explains the options in each of these lists.

Contents

This list shows a collection of books containing a couple of overview pages for the most important topics. Each of these overview pages itself will contain a couple of links to more detailed information.

Index

Besides the hierarchical information from the contents page that is restricted to some overview pages, you can also browse through an index to obtain information on any particular topic.

Search

The most powerful function to access necessary information on a particular topic is the search option. Here, you may enter words to search for. After the search has completed, the result list will show all relevant topics.
