This dialog box enables to smooth out segmented circles and arcs or to remove tiny edges from the Gerber model.

The two pictures below are showing a small part from a Gerber import. The left one without simplification and the right one with default simplification settings:

Simplification

Selecting or de-selecting this checkbox identifies if the Gerber model is imported with or without the specified settings below.

Arc conversion frame

Arc resolution (Single Layer)

Arc resolution (Multiple Layers)

The maximum angle in degrees between two adjacent segments. All smaller angles will be considered to be converted to arcs. The angle is only used for arcs and not for circles.
There are two different input fields because Gerber (Single Layer) and Gerber (Multiple Layers) have different Gerber-internal standard settings for arc resolution.

Circle/arc conversion frame

Radius tolerance

The maximum deviation in percent the distance a segment end point can have to the current definition of the circle center point. The tolerance is used for circles and arcs.

Small edge removal frame

Minimum edge length

Edges smaller than the defined length will be removed. Can be used to remove tiny fragments.

OK

Stores the specified settings for the Gerber import.

Cancel

Closes this dialog box without performing any further action.
