HFSS15: Steps for Calculating the Complex Vector Electric Field

录入:edatop.com     点击:

These are the field calculator steps to obtain the real part, the imaginary part, and the magnitude of the x-directed, y-directed, and z-directed components of the phasor electric field. For each of these vector components, the magnitude should be equal to sqrt(real^2+imag^2), but the need to interpolate values and the calculation sequence means that HFSS does not give this value unless the specified location is directly on a mesh element node.

1. Calculate real part of complex vector electric field (in x, y, and z directions):

a. Qty > E

b. Complex > Real

c. Geometry > Point > fieldcalc_point

d. Value

e. Eval

2. Calculate imaginary part of complex vector electric field (in x, y, and z directions):

a. Qty > E

b. Complex > Imag

c. Geometry > Point > fieldcalc_point

d. Value

e. Eval

Use the real and imaginary components to manually calculate the magnitude as the sqrt (Real^2+imag^2).
