HFSS15: Convergence of Source Design

This section describes the option Force source design to solve in absence of linked data in the target design on the Setup Link dialog box.

Scenario 1: The option is not selected.

When you solve the target design, it will always fetch the external field for the incident wave from the solved source design regardless of whether the source design met the convergence criteria. However, if the source design was not solved prior to fetching the external field the option will solve the source design. In either case the target design will then, fetch the external field for the incident wave from this simulated source design and then solve.

Scenario 2: The option is selected.

When you solve the target design, every time before it fetches the external field for the incident wave this option first checks if the source design satisfies the convergence criteria and ensures that the source design converges. Then, the target design fetches the external field for the incident wave from this simulated source design. So, in this case first the convergence criteria is checked and then satisifed for the source design before the target design is solved.
